DJ Campton-Sturridge got the Celts off to a perfect start when he netted on 10 minutes.

The visitors earned a spell in control of the game either side of the break but Danny Greenfield’s 57th minute strike put Farsley in the driving seat, before Robbie Fox netted his first Farsley goal to rubber-stamp the victory 14 minutes from time.

The Celt Army were fast out the traps in this Vanarama National League North clash and Ben Atkinson almost secured a second minute lead as he was played through on goal but he could only fire straight at Turbines’ keeper Peter Crook.

It didn’t take much longer for Pav Singh’s side to break the deadlock as Campton-Sturridge was played in down the right and brilliantly dinked the ball over Crook 10 minutes in.

Campton-Sturridge almost grabbed his and Farsley’s second eight minutes later but his shot smashed against the post from a narrow angle. The forward was unfortunately forced off the field with an ankle injury a little later in the first half.

Sports could have levelled matters on the 33 minute mark when Dion Semi-Ferris got a look on goal but the midfielder fired just wide of the target.

The visitors enjoyed a spell of control early in the second half and two key saves from Tom Wooster to deny both Matt Tootle and Elliott Putman to ensure Farsley’s lead.

Farsley netted a crucial second on 57 minutes as Fox played the ball through to the ever-energetic Greenfield who kept his cool to brilliantly finish on the bottom corner.

And the victory was wrapped up on the 76th minute as Fox, on his first league start for the club, caught Crook completely unawares as he lashed in a brilliant volley from just outside the box into the bottom corner to make it 3-0 to the Celts.

Substitute Manny Mampala could have even made it 4-0 as the game entered stoppage time, but as he advanced into the box, the ball got caught in his feet and a defender managed to clear the danger.

Farsley’s next fixture sees the long trip to the South West this Saturday as they face play-off contenders Hereford.

Farsley Celtic: Wooster, Hyde, Fielding, Misambo, Allan, Sloane, Watson, B Atkinson, Greenfield, Campton-Sturridge (Youmbi 35), Fox (Mampala 85).Subs not used: Assenso, Turner.
