Wes Nelson and Chelcee Grimes have won The Games in a gripping finale.

The ITV show came to a conclusion tonight after five nights of exciting sporting events, with the 12 celebrities taking on a string of events including Women's and Men's Speed Climbing, Women's Weightlifting and both the Men and Women's 100m race in their final fight for the crown.

As the show wrapped this evening, Love Island star Wes bagged the top prize for the men whilst singer and songwriter Chelcee found herself at the top of the leaderboard for the women.

Holly Willoughby and Freddie Flintoff returned as presenters for the final instalment, hosting live alongside Alex Scott.

Speaking after his win, Wes said: "Aw man, it's great. The boys have been great pushing each other."

Whilst Chelcee was left briefly speechless by her success, managing to add: "I just want to say a huge thank you to all the girls. I'm so proud of you all so shout out to you all."

Wes was named the ultimate champion of the games, scoring the highest points out of all the contestants. Josh Herdman and Rebecca Sarker were named as the bronze medallists, whilst the silver medallists were Ryan Thomas and Phoenix Brown.

The celebs - ex-Strictly pro and leading man Kevin Clifton, pop star Max George, song writer Chelcee Grimes, model and autism ambassador Christine McGuinness, Coronation Street actor Colson Smith, newsreader Lucrezia Millarini, musician and TV star Wes Nelson, Emmerdale actress Rebecca Sarker, actor Ryan Thomas, Love Island's Olivia Attwood, Harry Potter's Josh Herdman and Phoenix Brown - have been impressing on the track and in the pool but the final leaderboard was revealed tonight.

The show had been hit with 'fix' claims during the week as the women took on the javelin event.

Christine, Phoenix and Chelcee failed to register a throw in the first round, but in the second Phoenix managed a whopping 22.46 metres putting her in first place whilst Christine placed second with 20.05 metres.

Taking to Twitter, a frustrated fan wrote: "#TheGames ... #Womens #Javelin... The GOOD thing about TV is that 'We' could ALL see that #Phoenix ' 2nd throw clearly landed Tail-First. #FIX!! Or #WOT!!"

"I don’t get why they’re trying to fix leader boards. Both Christine and Phoenix throws were illegal. The back hit before the tip #TheGames," another added, as a third shared: "javelin, interesting change of rules as the competition went on as to what scored."

A fourth penned: "What a load of b******s. They explain the rules of the Javelin then allow 2 throws that very, very clearly landed tail first to count? If you’re going to do a program like this at least try and get it right! I know it’s not a serious competition but really!"
