Ruturaj Gaikwad recently had to dealt with a heartbreak after he did not find a place in India's 15-member squad for the all-important T20 World Cup. He was not even selected as a travelling reserve despite scoring a century and 98 just before the selection date, but that has not deter his confidence one bit.
The man is back to his scoring business against Punjab Kings and on a pitch where batters have struggled to get going, the CSK skipper has notched up an important fifty.
Gaikwad's fifty came in the 17th over when Sam Curran bowled a full delivery on the off stump line. The CSK skipper went deep in his crease and powered it way over long on and deep into the stands.

Gaikwad eventually departed in the 18th over on 62 off 48 balls with five fours and two sixes in it. Earlier, Punjab Kings won the toss and decided to bowl first and managed to restrict scoring rate with Ajinkya Rahane scoring 29 off 24 balls at the top of the order. Rest of the batters also struggled, and it was only because of Gaikwad's knock that CSK managed to cross 150 on a slowish deck.
