How Claudia Schiffer (And Her Cat) Prepped for the Argylle Premiere
Claudia Schiffer is a professional when it comes to red carpets—she's been having her photo taken for years. But her family cat, Chip? Well today was his first—ahem—yellow carpet for the United Kingdom premiere of Argylle.
“I do have a bit of a routine when it comes to preparing for a big moment,” the model, who is an executive producer on the film, tells Vogue over the phone while having her nails done. “It actually starts about a week before with eating healthy and doing a bit tougher of workout classes; I like ballet and pilates. The day of, I like to start with a crystal singing bowl sound bath. I lay down on an acupressure mat and do some meditation and deep breathing, which I find feels a little bit like a massage. All of this helps me feel more energetic before a big event.”
There's been quite a bit of buzz around the film since the first trailer dropped (Dua Lipa stars in the movie as a blonde!)—so Schiffer knew she had to go big when it came to her look. The dress is a homage to the look she wore at Versace’s spring 2024 show in Milan, which was declared as her return to the runway. “That collection was originally inspired by one Gianni did, and Donatella really took it to the next level. So when I was thinking of what to wear to this premiere, I knew I wanted to wear something like it, and asked Donatella to recreate it but in the yellow and silver of the Argylle film!”
The glam was Versace-coded, too. “The reference image I showed my makeup artist, Georgi, was actually a photo of myself from the era. Big nude lips and khol-rimmed eyes.” And while she isn't wearing a statement lip on the red carpet, Schiffer collaborated with longtime friend Pat McGrath to create a special edition fuchsia-pink lipstick in honor of the film.
When it came to Chip's glam, the Scottish Fold was a bit more high maintenance. “His ego is insufferable!” she jokes. The two actually wrote a book together, Blue Chip, which came out yesterday. “He knows he's a star. He's a nepo-cat.”
