Claudia Winklemans crippling health battle has left her falling apart
The Traitors and Strictly Come Dancing presenter Claudia Winkleman said she is "falling apart", in an update about her back and eye issues

Claudia Winkleman has opened up about a long-standing health struggle she's in the process of correcting.

After not "standing up straight" for 52 years, the presenter said she's been working with a Pilates instructor who's aiming to improve her posture.

Opening up about her back issue, Strictly Come Dancing host Claudia shared: "My body is made entirely of crepe. [I'm] falling apart."

Going into further detail, she added: "I've got a bad back and I need some form of strength. You know what I mean? I've got my core.

"They talked to me about parts of my body. They said, 'The problem is you've never used your lats'. I was like, 'What is that?'. Apparently, so my shoulders are up by my neck. I'm always like (demonstrates her posture).

"And I don't like the look of people standing up straight. It feels somehow cocky, so my stance has always been like a turtle."

Lats, short for latissimus dorsi muscle, is one of the back's largest muscles.

Through various approaches of Pilates, participants can strengthen major muscle groups, posture, flexibility, strength, balance, and bodily awareness.

"I've now got so many backbones. So I go to Pilates and they try and open me up," she added on Gabby Logan's The Mid.Point podcast.

"When they do open me up and I sit or stand like I'm supposed to, like that, I mean, it feels alien."

In addition to her back issues, Claudia provided an update on her chronic eye condition, Myopia.

Short-sightedness, or myopia as it's known medically, affects numerous individuals' ability to clearly see objects at a distance, explains the NHS. Corrective measures can include surgery or eyewear.

Claudia has previously said that her eye condition has caused her to bump into walls, stopped her from driving as well as challenges with reading. Despite undergoing surgery twice to correct her vision, she acknowledged that difficulties still persist, especially with reading.

Thankfully, the presenter said she can still manage to do her job with the help of specific glasses for her needs.
