Disruption on Colchester to London Liverpool Street line causes delays for commuters
National Rail has reported that Greater Anglia’s Colchester to London Liverpool Street trains this morning could be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.
This is because of a fault with a signalling system between Hatfield Peverel and Chelmsford.
Due to the issue trains have to run at a reduced speed.
Trains from Braintree, Chelmsford, Clacton, Harwich, heading to London Liverpool Street are also affected.
National Rail staff are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
Disruption is expected until 9am.
According to National Rail’s website, if you experience a lengthy delay, you could be due compensation.
It said: "You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today.
“Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.”
It is also advised to check your train journey before you arrive at the station.
