Jake Paul has accused UFC legend Conor McGregor of being jealous over his mega-fight against Mike Tyson.
Boxing icon 'Iron Mike' is back in the ring on July 20 as he fights social media star Paul at the AT&T Stadium in Texas. Many fans and fighterx have been critical of the fight, including McGregor, given the 30-year age gap between the two men. McGregor said of the bout: "Oh jeez. It's a bit strange. The interest is low. I don't know. I don't understand it. I wish well for Mike."
Paul has now fired back at McGregor by claiming the fight is far bigger than the Irishman's UFC return against Michael Chandler, which takes place this summer. The fight is still without an official event or date but McGregor said he received confirmation from the UFC about the bout and an announcement will be made soon.

"So Conor, you're saying the interest is low for the fight but the last fight you annonced there was a thousand articles written in a multi-day span, people talking about your last fight. In that same multiple-day span there was ten thousand article written about this. No fight ever has done these numbers in terms of face-off views and Instagram reels," Paul said on his BS podcast.
"Just on our main pages alone, it's like 50 or 60 million Instagram views on both of our posts. Not to mention every single other sports page posting it. This is in my mind the biggest fight the world will ever see. There's no reason for them to be jealous, I get people are jealous but when the old heads like Conor are trying to hate it's like, why are you trying to pull people down?
It's unclear if the fight will be professionally sanctioned or will go ahead as an exhibition bout, with the Texas Commission having the final say on the decision. Paul's Most Valuable Promotions business partner Nakisa Bidarian said both men won't be wearing headgear but the amount of rounds and contracted weight are also still unclear.
The fight will air live on Netflix and when asked whether it will be bigger than McGregor's boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather, Paul said: "It'll be more viewed, a thousand percent. Obviously it's free so we can't compare pay-per-view numbers. The fight just had to make sense for the streaming platforms, there has to be a high allure."
