Al-Nassr manager Luis Castro has confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo will not face Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami.
The Portuguese international had been a doubt heading into this week’s massive fixture, with Ronaldo set to take on Messi for what could have been the final time.
Ronaldo recently missed Al-Nassr’s mid-season tour to China due to injury, prompting the Saudi Arabian side to cancel two fixtures that had been planned to take place.

And speaking to the press via Globo, Al-Nassr coach Castro revealed that Ronaldo will not be fit enough to face Inter Miami, with the striker needing more time to recover.
Indeed, Ronaldo always looked to be in a losing battle against the clock to face Inter Miami, and the decision to not play could be for the best for the Al-Nassr forward.
Castro said: “We will not see [Messi vs Ronaldo], Ronaldo is in the final part of his recovery to join the group. We hope that in the next few days you can start working with the team. He will be absent from the game.”
Cristiano Ronaldo’s absence is big for Lionel Messi and Inter Miami

MORE INTER MIAMI STORIES
Ronaldo’s fitness has taken up what seems to be all the air time surrounding Inter Miami’s second friendly in Saudi Arabia during this pre-season tour.
Yet for the Herons, the Portuguese forward missing out is a huge boost for Tata Martino’s side, with the biggest narrative of the fixture now gone heading into the fixture.
Indeed, Inter Miami can now focus on playing their game and building up on fitness, with Al-Nassr still having a squad that will give the Herons quite the test in Riyadh.
And with Ronaldo not playing, all the attention can now be placed on Inter Miami and the project the franchise are embarking on, with Messi as their talisman.
