It feels like a pattern has been set. Chelsea are enjoying plenty of possession, but they are not finding too many gaps at present. Palace clearly think the chance of a break is on and are attacking quickly when they get the chance. The pace of James, Christensen and Rudiger could be crucial in that sense.

Palace will be pleased with how this game has started. They’ve managed to keep Chelsea at a distance for much of it so far. They are looking at ways to hit them on the break and both Mateta and Zaha have had balls to run onto in the early stages.
