You’ve heard of Blue Monday, now get ready for Black Friday.

The shopping event of the year has the world in motion once again, with millions of new orders set to be placed over the next 24 hours as restless customers rush to secure the best deals on Christmas presents in the last week of November.

The likes of Amazon, eBay, Sky and Currys have shown true faith in the past few years by already launching their deals ahead of the big day, with more retailers set to follow suit as businesses race to get shoppers the best deals and discounts in time for the Christmas rush.

Even travel companies have got in on the act, promising cut price trips so you can start planning to be on the beach in the new year.

Spending this year is expected to rise by nearly a third - 32 per cent - compared to the same day in 2019, according to predictions based on debit and credit card spend patterns by the Nationwide Building Society.

The total spend will be around £362.6m, a 19 per cent rise on last year’s spending of £305.6m, analysis found.

But with tills ringing around the globe, it can be hard to know whether you will regret actually getting a good deal or not.
