Before entering the castle Danny officially announced he would be leaving Emmerdale and last night his character Aaron appeared for the last time in the soap.
In a pre-recorded interview posted to his Instagram account by his family, who is managing the account while he is in Gwrych Castle in Abergele for I'm A Celebrity, Danny emotionally apologises for having to lie about going into the castle and explains how hard it was to leave Emmerdale.
In the video the actor is in his car, which he pulled over on the side of the road after leaving the Emmerdale set for the last time.
Visibly crying and sobbing throughout the video, Danny said: "You'll just have to bear with me because I'll probably blubber my way through this."
Thanking the cast and crew at Emmerdale for all their help, Danny addressed his appearance in I'm A Celebrity, he said: "I'm hoping at this point I'm still in the castle in Wales in I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! which nobody knows about or very little people know about and this video is also to apologise to anyone I have lied to about it."
He continued: "But obviously I signed a contract to say I'm not allowed to talk about it and I didn't want to get sued by ITV... so I am hoping I am in there and I am not blubbering my way through something there."
In I'm A Celebrity Danny has been reduced to tears as he admitted to former football David Ginola that he was homesick and also became emotional when he failed to win David's letter from home during the Wi-Fi challenge.
Talking about leaving the soap, new dad Danny became more emotional as he explained it was a tough decision to make, he said: "My decision to leave Emmerdale was a very very tough decision to make for me and my new family, Steph and my baby, and my two crazy dogs."
He added: "It was a decision Steph and I both sat down and talked long hours about..."
Danny only spent two weeks with his new baby son, Albert, before entering the castle.
