2022 Masters Darts: Previews, results and updated draw from the ITV4-televised event
The top eight players in the world will join the competition in the second round, meaning we should be in for an exciting opening night of darts as the best 16 outsiders fight for a chance to take on a big name.

First-round drawKrzysztof Ratajski (12) vs Gabriel Clemens (21)
The opening night will kick off with an exciting European clash between the Polish Eagle Krzysztof Ratajski and the German Giant Gabriel Clemens. The winner will take on Michael Smith in the second round.
Dimitri Van den Bergh (9) vs Ian White (24)
Following his impressive display at the world championship, Ian White will be looking to continue his improving form against Dimitri Van den Bergh. A game against Jonny Clayton awaits the winner.
Dave Chisnall (13) vs Stephen Bunting (20)
In an exclusive interview, Stephen Bunting told Planet Sport he stepped up his training following a shock second-round world championship exit to Ross Smith. He will be looking for a better result against Dave Chisnall in the opening round of the Masters. The prize for the winner is a clash with The Machine, James Wade.
Joe Cullen (11) vs Daryl Gurney (22)
After sliding down the rankings over the last couple of years, Daryl Gurney will be hoping for an improvement in 2022 - starting with a first-round clash at the Masters against The Rock Star, Joe Cullen. Gary Anderson will take on the winner on Saturday.
Ryan Searle (16) vs Mervyn King (17)
A meeting with world No. 1 Gerwyn Price awaits for either Ryan Searle or Mervyn King. Both players are in great form which should make for a cracking first-round contest.
Dirk van Duijvenbode (15) vs Simon Whitlock
With Danny Noppert unable to make the Masters, Simon Whitlock has stepped up and will take on Dutchman Dirk van Duijvenbode. The winner will meet world champion Peter Wright in the second round.
Rob Cross (10) vs Brendan Dolan (23)
In what promises to be an electric encounter, Voltage Rob Cross takes on The History Maker, Brendan Dolan. Jose de Sousa will play the winner in the second round.
Devon Petersen vs Luke Humphries (19)
With Nathan Aspinall forced to withdraw from the tournament due to an injury, Devon Petersen has stepped up and will take on Luke Humphries in the final game of the opening night. The prize for winning will be a big clash with Michael van Gerwen in the second round.
Second-round drawThe second round of the Masters will take place on Saturday, January 29.

Quarter-final drawThe quarter-final will take place on Sunday, January 20.
The draw for this stage will be confirmed once all the games in the two previous rounds are completed.
Semi-final & final drawsBoth the semi-finals and the final will take place on the same day as the quarters.
The last three games of the tournament will be a race to 11 legs.
