I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! viewers were left in hysterics after spotting David Ginola ’s rude comment to Dame Arlene Phillips.

The former footballer, 54, was paired with the ex-Strictly judge during Sunday night’s episode, after it was revealed they would be competing with diver Matty Lee and Paralympian Kadeena Cox to avoid being sent to the Castle Clink.

Reading out a laminate they came across after being abandoned in the Welsh forest, Arlene read out the instructions to her fellow campmates.

“Celebrities, Welcome to Wales! You four will now go into battle, and play your part in trying to win the keys to the Castle. By winning the keys, you will have access to the Castle’s main camp and a meal tonight. The losers will be banished to the Castle Clink where you will be on basic rations,” she revealed.

Over walkie talkies, hosts Ant McPartlin and Delcan Donnelly communicated with the celebrities to explain the details of the Hell Hole Challenge.

They revealed that Louise Minchin and Snoochie Shy had won their challenge, and chose Kadeena and Matty to join the red team.

But it was now up to the athletes to make sure the red team avoided being sent to the cruel castle prison, so they had to battle it out with David and Arlene, who were on the yellow team with Naughty Boy and Danny Miller.

“You will now go away, put on your team colours and compete in your own challenge in the forest. Good luck,” Ant told the celebrities.

After discovering that they were being pitted against each other, Arlene read out the instructions of the challenge, and told the rest of the group that they would be fighting for the chance to choose who will represent their team in the final challenge.

“In front of you are two flare boxes, one red, one yellow. The tool you need to unlock the flares is attached to the cord on the post in front of you,” the 78-year-old explained.

“You must move the tool along the cord into the first hole in the ground and out of the second, before moving it to the box where you can release the cover and set off your flare. Whichever team sets off their flare first will win,” she added.

But it was David’s words of encouragement that triggered fits of laughter from fans, who were astonished by the Frenchman’s cheeky sense of humour.

“My finger is in the hole! Nice and easy, slow down, take your time,” he said to Arlene while stifling laughter, before he serenaded his teammate with an altered version of Dexy’s Midnight Runners’ hit Come on Eileen, but changed the words to Come On Arlene.
