Dee Devlin speaks out on relationship with Conor McGregor
Conor McGregor was found to have assaulted Nikita Hand in a Dublin hotel in 2018 and his fiancee Dee Devlin has now spoken out about their relationship

Conor McGregor's partner Dee Devlin is standing by him after the UFC star was found to have assaulted a woman on a night out.

McGregor was found to have assaulted Nikita Hand in a Dublin hotel in 2018 with the jury awarding the victim over €248,000 in damages last Friday. The fighter has since confirmed he will appeal the decision and insists the sex between himself and Ms. Hand was consensual.

His fiancee has now spoken out to back her partner.Writing on social media, she said: "Conor and I dealt with these issues privately many years ago, as should be done in a relationship and we have come out stronger than ever.

"We have four beautiful children now whose smiling faces and happy hearts are a testament to who he is and who we are!"

Ms. Devlin's comments come as major retailers across Ireland and the UK, including Tesco, announced they will stop selling alcoholic drinks associated with McGregor. And the Dubliner's whiskey brand Proper No. 12 will no longer carry his name. McGregor sold his stake in the brand in 2021.

On Monday, a popular video game developer decided to pull content featuring the MMA fighter. The Irish athlete has featured in multiple video games, including voice-acting a character bearing his likeness in additional downloadable content in the Hitman series. McGregor's character featured as a target for the player-controlled assassin in the game.

McGregor yesterday took to social media to post pictures from outside the court during the case, but left comments off and later deleted the images. Earlier this week, he issued a statement which read: "People want to hear from me, I needed time. I know I made mistakes. Six years ago, I should have never responded to her outreaches.

"I should have shut the party down. I should never have stepped out on the woman I love the most in the world. That's all on me. As much as I regret it, everything that happened that night was consensual and all the witnesses present swore to that under oath. I have instructed my legal team to appeal the decision. I can't go back and I will move forward. I am beyond grateful to my family, friends and supporters all over the world who have stayed by my side. That's it. No more. Getting back to the gym - the fight game awaits!"

McGregor has not fought since July 2021 and the UFC has made no comment as to whether they will allow their biggest star to compete again. The 36-year-old had been due to face Michael Chandler this summer but pulled out at two weeks' notice after breaking his toe in training.
