Dame Denise Lewis is a Team GB legend and Olympic hero – but her husband is used to living in the limelight too. The heptathlete was a prominent figure in British athletics, winning a bronze in 1996 before clinching gold at the next Olympic Games in Sydney.

After an injury forced her to withdraw from the 2004 Games, Lewis retired in 2005 but had already made a name for herself on Strictly Come Dancing, finishing as runner-up. Known as one of the 'golden girls' of British athletics, Lewis was honoured with a damehood and elected as UK Athletics president in 2023, although she later stepped down.

Who is Steve Finan O'Connor?

Born in 1964, Finan O'Connor is the son of legendary comedian and TV presenter Tom O'Connor. His father rose to fame on the comedy scene before hosting popular shows throughout the 1970s and 80s, such as Crosswits and the Tom O'Connor Roadshow.

Lewis even appeared alongside her husband's famous father on Celebrity Pointless in 2011.

Finan O'Connor, aged 60, used to manage the likes of Madness and All Saints during a glittering career in the music business - and still has former One Direction star Liam Payne under his wing. Outside of the music industry, Finan O'Connor has worked in property development. He's also the founder of Fan3, a business focused on artist management along with enhancing fan experiences.

Relationship with Denise Lewis

Their paths first crossed at the Brit Awards in 2000, but it took a few years before they started their relationship. They married in 2006 and have welcomed three sons into the world: Ryan, Kane, and Troy. O'Connor also has a son from another relationship, and Lewis has a daughter from her first marriage.

Residing in Buckinghamshire, the pair's youngest son Troy was born in 2018. Lewis has spoken candidly about her experience as an older mum: "Obviously I was well out of practice. I was wondering how I'd cope," she told The Sun in 2021.

"But, because I was so overjoyed about having Troy, I decided that this is what I chose and it's not going to break me. It's that coping strategy that I've adopted for myself."
