Loose Women's Denise Welch passionately spoke about 'hypocrisy' during the coronavirus pandemic after she was banned from travelling in an ambulance with her sick dad.

The Hollyoaks actress was on the ITV show on Tuesday alongside Ruth Langsford, Carol McGiffin and Gloria Huniford as they posed whether the government is "guilty of double standards."

This lead to Denise clashing with Gloria as the pair shared opposing views on the matter.

The 63-year-old expressed her anger at football fans being able to watch the Euros in their thousands in stadiums while loved ones weren't able to go in ambulances together.

"I've tried to keep my Instagram free of politics and I've not been able to this week since I came off Twitter," Denise started by saying.

"My dad whose been very sick, was very poorly the other night and had to be transported to another hospital in the middle of the night and had to go on his own.

"That day I am looking at the football crowds outside who've been allowed to gather in London. I'm not allowed - double jabbed - myself, my father - double jabbed - the paramedics - double jabbed - to travel in an ambulance, while this is going on, with my father.

"And that is one person out of thousands and millions who've not been able to do that through this crisis."

"They were told not to come, actually," Ruth commented, referring to the football fans who travelled to London for last Friday's Euros game between England and Scotland.

As Denise began to speak, Gloria interjecting to 'pick Denise up on a couple of points'.

"I don't believe the NHS had a carnival every time they came to clap outside," Gloria said after Denise argued the "government allowed clap for carers to become a carnival."

Gloria continued: "I have to say - and you can nitpick any situation - but there-"

As Denise tried to interrupt, Gloria firmly carried on: "Hang on a second, Denise. But I just feel like the NHS has done everything they possibly can. I think they have been amazing."

The pair continued to go back and forth with Gloria asking Denise to be quiet at one point.

In another moment a short while later, all the panellists began talking over each other before Denise and Gloria agreed to disagree and it was time to move on.

Denise's dad Vin has been in hospital for more than two months and she became upset when she wasn't allowed in the ambulance with him as he was transferred between hospitals.

The former Corrie actress said previously on Instagram about her dad: "10 weeks in hospital, 3 major operations at 84!! But here’s proof his dancing days are not yet over!!

"He’s fought back and is soon to go to the next rehab stage for his mobility. Still some way to go before home but we’ll get there."
