Diwali
Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is one of the most important and widely celebrated festivals in India. It symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. This auspicious occasion is celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy by people of all ages and backgrounds.
During Diwali, homes and streets are beautifully decorated with colorful lights, diyas (oil lamps), and rangolis (artistic patterns made with colored powders). People exchange gifts and sweets with their loved ones, and families come together to perform traditional prayers and rituals.
One of the most fascinating traditions of Diwali is the symbolic slaying of the demon king. To commemorate Lord Krishna's victory over the Asura king, effigies of the demon king are stuffed with firecrackers and burnt at dawn. This ritual signifies the triumph of good over evil and the eradication of negativity from our lives.
