Donald Trump cameo resurfaces amid elections as 'Home Alone 2 actor' on the ballot
Before Donald Trump transitioned into politics, entering as a controversial conservative Republican, he was a prevailing figure in glitzy Hollywood.
The ex-president built his fame from being a savvy hotelier who earned his estimated billion-dollar fortune through the extravagant Trump hotels he established across key cities in the United States. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Trump’s hotels became highly talked about for their glamour—and for hosting several boxing matches that featured then-superstar fighter Mike Tyson—leading to the magnate essentially being considered “the man.” With that being said, it comes as no surprise that The Apprentice star made a movie cameos.
One particular cameo that has resurfaced on X, formerly Twitter, is Trump’s appearance in the cult classic film Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, the second installment in the Home Alone franchise.
Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin’s character Kevin McCallister bumped into Trump at a hotel, who was playing himself, when he was lost again in the movie’s sequel. Trump’s short scene was pointed out on X by many who seemed to forget he had a brief appearance in the 1990s flick.
“Why didn't I know Home Alone 2 had Donald Trump in it,” one asked on X. Another asked: “ Are kids who don't really remember the Trump presidency like, ‘oh the guy from Home Alone 2 is running for president again?’”
Someone else joked: “Donald Trump, the actor from Home Alone 2. You might have heard of him.”
Others, however, remembered Trump being in Home Alone 2, and reveled in his other movie appearances being discovered.
“Wait till they find out Donald Trump was in Home Alone 2 and the Little Rascals,” one X user wrote, referring to his appearance in the 1994 film Little Rascals as the character Waldo Johnston II.
Meanwhile, some believed people were purposely trying to forget Trump’s Hollywood fame.
“Have you forgotten Trump deemed himself a celebrity? He has a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and did cameos in Home Alone 2 & Sex and The City,” one social media user informed. “Then there's The Apprentice and he whined about not getting an Emmy. Sounds like you have bad case of selective amnesia.”
Trump is running against Vice President Kamala Harris for president, and after Tuesday night America will see who won the White House. Trump was first president in 2016, and although he ran in 2020, he lost the presidency to Joe Biden.
