Down Syndrome
A woman with Down syndrome has lost her appeal to stop killing babies diagnosed with this condition, cleft lip or club foot in-utero under the disability clause in abortion laws, which she said were discriminatory.
Down syndrome is a genetic disorder that occurs when there is an extra copy of chromosome 21. This extra genetic material affects the development of the body and brain, leading to intellectual disability, developmental delays, and other health problems.
Despite the challenges faced by individuals with Down syndrome, they can still lead fulfilling lives and contribute to society. It is important to advocate for their rights and ensure that they are not discriminated against.
