Dua Lipa has set her sights on becoming an Almodovar girl following her appearances in 2024's Argylle and the highest-grossing film of 2023, Barbie.
The British singer, 28, shared that she would love to star in a film by Oscar-winning director Pedro Almodovar, the man behind films such as I'm So Excited! and Parallel Mothers.
The women Pedro, 74, has regularly cast have become affectionately known in Spain as 'chicas Almodovar', which translates to 'Almodovar girls'.
Hollywood actress Penelope Cruz has been one of the Spaniard's favourite picks over the years and they've made seven films together since 1997
Dua told Spanish news website El Espanol: 'I'm a great admirer of Pedro Almodovar and I'd love to be an Almodovar girl one day. His films really empower women, make them be themselves without apologies.

'Almodovar's work always has female protagonists, they are the absolute stars, so strong, so themselves.
'They speak to how much Pedro loves women in the way he presents them, their stories, with many nuances. It's funny but also emotional and dramatic. It gives women a lot of layers and I love that.'
Pedro's breakthrough film was 1998 comedy thriller Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown which was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar.
His last project was short film Strange Way of Life starring Pedro Pascal and Ethan Hawke. It Pedro's second film in English.
In the coming months, Pedro will begin his feature-length English-language debut, The Room Next Door, starring Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore.
Pedro shared that the film is about 'a very imperfect mother and her resentful daughter, who live separate lives because of a profound misunderstanding'.
The Room Next Door will be distributed by Sony Pictures Classics but a release date has not been announced.
Sony Pictures Classics has distributed nearly all of Pedro's films including 2021's Parallel Mothers, which earned Penélope Cruz an Oscar nomination for Best Actress.
Dua made her film debut in Barbie, starring Margot Robbie as the titular character, as a Barbie mermaid. It was a cameo appearance
Dua had a larger role in spy action comedy film Argylle where she played LaGrange. The film underperformed at box office
