Elton John's “Tiny Dancer” Performance at Disney Christmas Day ...
Having retired from the road, these days Sir Elton John is enjoying the extra time with his husband, David Furnish, and their two sons. But that doesn’t mean The Rocket Man has lost his vocals or his showmanship. The 77-year-old legend proved he’s still got it with an incredible performance of “Tiny Dancer” during Wednesday’s (Dec. 25) Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade.

Across the world, families settled in by the fireplace—no doubt still sporting comfy PJs—to watch the Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade on Wednesday (Dec. 25) morning. Hosted by Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro, the joyous event aired at 10 a.m. Eastern on ABC and 11 a.m. on Disney+.

Fans called John’s performance “truly the most magical thing I have ever seen!” Others applauded his sound, stating “His voice still sounds amazing! He’s truly a remarkable artist.”
This year featured a host of performers, including Elton John, Carly Pearce, Anika Noni Rose, John Legend and the cast of Disney on Broadway.
“It feels fantastic,” Sir Elton told On The Red Carpet. “My kids are gonna love it because they’re Walt Disney fanatics, as are we.”
The EGOT winner performed his 1972 hit “Tiny Dancer,” much to the delight of viewers. Shockingly, “Tiny Dancer” initially fizzled on the pop charts (due in part to its six-minute run time.) Audiences warmed to it eventually, though, and the song became a fixture on adult contemporary and rock radio stations. (Almost Famous helped a little as well, as the song received a boost in popularity after it appeared in Cameron Crowe’s 2000 cult classic.)

This Superstar Once Sang Elton’s Kids to Sleep
Elton John shares sons Zachary, 13, and Elijah, 11, with husband David Furnish. The “Candle in the Wind” hitmaker opened up about the more intimate sides of parenthood during a Dec. 17 appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
“We sang them to bed,” he said. “We read them stories every night, even when they couldn’t understand what we were saying. It was a ritual that we held them.”
And they didn’t always have to do it alone, either. “Gaga, who’s their godmother, used to come and bathe them and sing them to bed,” John said, referring to pop star Lady Gaga.
