Ollie Watkins pleased to make tournament debut
The striker reflects on his EURO 2024 bow and reviews England's 1-1 draw with Denmark
Ollie Watkins was delighted to make his major tournament debut against Denmark at EURO 2024 on Thursday.
The Aston Villa striker was introduced as a second-half substitute and came close to putting the Three Lions in front, only to be denied by Kasper Schmeichel in the Danish goal.
Watkins praised England's opponents for their resilience and stressed that emerging unbeaten from the first two games of their campaign is a positive place to be.
He said: "It was a great atmosphere, I loved every minute of it. I like to run in behind, cause defenders some problems. I feel like I did that but it was difficult. Denmark made it very difficult for us with their back five on not a great pitch. It was tough.
"Another point and unbeaten in two now."
