MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

  • The Reds have lost just one of the past 26 league meetings home and away - a 2-0 Premier League defeat at Anfield in February 2021 (W12, D13).
  • The Toffees failed to score in any of the last four league Merseyside derbies.
  • This will be the 244th meeting between the two sides in all competitions; Liverpool are one short of registering 100 victories, while there have been 77 draws and 67 wins for Everton.

Everton

  • Their 34 league goals scored so far this campaign has equalled their total from last season.
  • Idrissa Gueye's strike against Nottingham Forest on Sunday was his first Premier League goal since February 2017 against Sunderland - Jordan Pickford was the opposition keeper that day.
  • Dwight McNeil marked his 200th Premier League appearance with a goal against Forest.

Liverpool

  • Liverpool have won seven of their past nine Premier League away games, with a 3-1 loss at Arsenal and 2-2 draw at Manchester United the only exceptions.
