The line-ups are in for tonight’s re-arranged Serie A fixture between Fiorentina and Inter at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, which will kick-off at 19.45 GMT, but will only last for 73 minutes of regular play.
Tonight’s game had originally been scheduled for December 1, but was abandoned after 17 minutes after Edoardo Bove collapsed on the pitch. He was rushed to hospital, admitted to intensive care and was then discharged around two weeks later after having an internal defibrillator fitted.
Bove has made a remarkable recovery, but is not able to play in Serie A with a defibrillator device fitted.
As the original Fiorentina-Inter was suspended, tonight’s game will pick up exactly where it left off: Beginning with a Fiorentina throw-in in the 17th minute with the scores level at 0-0.
There are also strict regulations in place over who is and isn’t allowed to play tonight. Players who were signed after the original fixture kicked off are not eligible, which means no Nicola Zalewski for Inter, and no Pablo Mari, Nicolo Fagioli, Michael Folorunsho, Cher Ndour or Nicolo Zaniolo for Fiorentina.
That makes for a relatively limited set of options for Fiorentina, who have effectively lined up with two sets of full-backs on the pitch. Dodo and Fabiano Parisi are expected to start in wide midfield roles in front of Pietro Comuzzo and Robin Gosens.
Albert Gudmundsson is ruled out with tonsilitis.
There is a more familiar look about the Inter team, who line up in Simone Inzaghi’s customary 3-5-2.
The Nerazzurri are led by Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram up front. There is no Nicolo Barella or Federico Dimarco in the starting XI, who are instead replaced by Davide Frattesi and Carlos Augusto.
Kick-off is set for 19.45 GMT.
