France took a significant step towards the Six Nations title as they beat Ireland 30-24 in Paris.

Antoine Dupont got the home side up and running inside a couple of minutes, before Mack Hansen made the most of some indecision to cut the deficit for Ireland.

The boot of Melvyn Jaminet kept France’s lead ticking over, before tries in the second-half from Josh van der Flier and Jamison Gibson-Park got Ireland to within a point.

But Cyril Baille then went over to extend that lead, and France saw out the rest of the match to bring an end to Ireland’s nine-match winning run and strike a major blow in the title race.

France win in Paris in what could be a huge result in the Six Nations title race.

Losing bonus point for Ireland and their winning run is over. Had some really impressive spells of rugby, but France were the better side on the whole.

Dupont got them off to the perfect start, and the home side led for all-but 67 seconds of the match.

Eventually it’s decided there is no conclusive evidence that it was grounded.

Goes back for the penalty though, and Jaminet will knock this over once he’s taken his time.

He does... France six points ahead with about a minute to go!

They were slowly winning metres, before Fickou’s kick got them towards the 22.

Jaminet has it from Ntamack and he bursts through a couple of tackles to touch down over the line.
