After many months of speculation and a lot of rumors and even conspiracy theories, finally, Elden Ring DLC could have a release date.

The second anniversary of Elden Ring is this week, and fans are only waiting for one thing. In March 2023, FromSoftware and Bandai Namco announced Shadow of the Erdtree, the new DLC for Elden Ring. This content, according to several leaks and rumors, will be the biggest in the game. No massive official information or details have been shared about this content.

Various rumors talk about a new collaboration that will bring merchandise to the most devoted fans. Bandai Namco, the company that distributes the game, has not mentioned anything about this upcoming anniversary.

FromSoftware has made some changes to the trademark of the game; they are now the only owners of the Elden Ring name. This was concrete last year, and thanks to some business reports from the Kadokawa Corporation, owners of FromSoftware, the details about the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC are that this content will be very huge. 

What Could Happen on this Particular Date?

The Elden Ring social media account is not very active. The last post in X is from January 11. But players form their own theories about what will happen on this second anniversary. Elden Ring was launched on February 25, 2022. The title was released on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This made FromSoftware sell more than 20,000,000 copies of the game, making it the most-sold IP of the company by far.

FromSoftware last year launched Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, which received an amazing reception for the franchise but was not even close to the Elden Ring numbers. So, the creators of Dark Souls are looking for new hit content to boost the sales of the company’s games. This developer has many IPs to work on, like a sequel to Sekiro, a new Dark Souls game, or even a never-before-seen game.
