Richard Keys defends Alejandro Garnacho after the Man United star ...

Richard Keys has jumped to the defence of Alejandro Garnacho after the Man United winger 'liked' two posts on X that criticised Erik ten Hag.

Garnacho was replaced at half-time by Amad Diallo and was clearly not happy with the substitution. 

Tweets from renowned United fan Mark Goldbridge slammed both Ten Hag's decision to withdraw Garnacho, along with his post-match comments when he implied the Argentine's work rate was a reason for taking him off. 

Garnacho, who has over 700,000 followers on X, was spotted having liked both of Goldbridge's tweets as he sparked a social media spat. 

But now Keys has jumped to the defence of Garnacho, stating that he has bailed Ten Hag out multiple times this season.

Speaking on beINSPORTS, Keys said: 'He's not realistic is he? 

'I've said this before, he lives in a parallel universe. 

A fair bit of criticism as a result of taking off Garnacho at half-time. 

It's suggested he threw the 19-year-old under a bus. I have some sympathy with that view. Garnacho's dug him out week in week out over the last two months. 

'Young players make mistakes he said?'

Since Garnacho's social media activity, Amad Diallo has taken to social media to post a cryptic message after the draw.

The winger posted an emoji with the mouth zipped shut over the top of a photo of him applauding fans.

It appears that Ten Hag is slowly but surely losing the backing of his young players.

The likes of Graham Potter and Gareth Southgate have been heavily linked with the job at Old Trafford ahead of the summer.
