Gary Barlow son's real height as he towers over Take That star – but ...
Gary Barlow’s son Daniel recently went viral for towering over his Take That star father – and fans couldn’t believe just how tall he was.
Though Gary tends to keep his personal life out of the limelight, he broke his usual silence for a sweet family update, posting a snap of himself standing beside his wife Dawn Andrews and two of their children. He shares Daniel, Emily and Daisy with his wife, along with daughter Poppy who was sadly stillborn in 2012.
But Daniel, 24, shocked the nation as he towered above his dad with his arm resting on Gary’s shoulder. Dressed in a pair of grey board shorts and a white striped polo shirt, Daniel showed off his impressive height.
All is not as it seems, however – as it turns out Daniel isn’t particularly above average in the height department. He stands at 6”2, compared to his dad Gary’s 5”7.
The average male height in the UK is 5”9, meaning Gary is slightly under average.
Gary recently explained to The Mirror that he doesn’t expect his kids to follow in his musical footsteps. He said: “The two oldest ones [Daniel and Emily] have kind of gone into medicine and physiology – studying strength and conditioning – and my youngest one, Daisy, I’m not too sure what she’s heading for but again, she’s very studious… unlike me and my wife."
He added: “I don’t think they will follow in my music footsteps but I wouldn’t have discouraged them though if they did want to, it’s been a good business for me.”
In another tidbit, Gary let slip to the Belfast Telegraph in 2019: “I always feel they're growing up too fast - it's weird. It's all going to sound like someone's said it a million times as parents, but it feels like a race.
“They're doing this and they're doing that, and all of a sudden you turn around and they've grown up.”
He went on: “I have good days and bad days. Some days I'm a terrible parent, other days I'm good. But I owe it all - their upbringing - to my wife because I've been on tour for most it, travelling around and making records, and she's been the one who's gone to all the parent evenings and done all the stuff, so it's all because of her."
