Parents of Nottingham stabbing victim call for George Cross award
The parents of Grace O'Malley-Kumar, the 19-year-old student who was tragically stabbed to death while coming to the aid of Barnaby Webber, are backing calls for their daughter to be posthumously awarded the George Cross. The perpetrator, Valdo Calocane, 32, repeatedly stabbed Grace as she bravely tried to help another victim.
Recognition for bravery
The George Cross is the second highest award for gallantry in the United Kingdom, and is awarded to those who have shown extreme bravery and heroism in the face of adversity. Grace's parents believe that her selfless actions on that fateful day deserve to be recognized with this prestigious honor.
