Warriors' Stephen Curry returning to starting lineup for Game 5 vs. Nuggets
Warriors star Stephen Curry will return to the team's starting lineup in Game 5 of the first-round playoff series against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night in San Francisco. After dealing with an ankle injury over the final month of the regular season, Curry came off the bench for the first four games of the series.
The full lineup will include Jordan Poole, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green, with Kevon Looney moving to the bench. Golden State leads the series 3-1 following a 126-121 loss Sunday in Denver.
Poole started in Curry's place in the first four games and has been the breakout star of the series so far, averaging 24.3 points on nearly 60 percent shooting in 34 minutes per game. Curry has averaged 27.5 points on 51.4 percent shooting in 28 minutes per game.
On Tuesday, Golden State declined to say whether Curry would return to the starting five Wednesday, with general manager Bob Myers adding that Curry himself "will probably decide the answer to that question."
The Warriors will be without Andre Iguodala, who is listed as having a left cervical disc injury, in the matchup. Game 5 tips off at 10 p.m. ET.
