Gordon Ramsay offloads mansion in recordbreaking deal

The cooking world's venerated bad boy, Gordon Ramsay, has flipped his Cornwall mansion like it was one of his famous homemade burgers, selling the lavish abode for a whopping £7.5 million ($13 million).

According to Cornwall Live, property records now show the Michelin Star chef sold his staggering Trebetherick residence in a massive deal back in 2021.

The sale of Ramsay's house made it the most expensive property transaction in the entire seaside county last year and potentially the most expensive home ever sold in Cornwall.

Ramsay famously spent much of 2020 at his beachside digs, often taking to instagram to post videos from the staggering abode.

And, unlike some of his other recent property sales, it appears the Hell's Kitchen star has made a tidy profit in the process of off-loading the beachfront domicile.

Records show the celebrity chef initially spent £4 million ($7 million) on the residence, meaning the often cantankerous maestro of the kitchen made a cool $6 million in the lucrative sale.

While the transaction ultimately translates to a silver lining for Ramsay and his coffers, it sounds as though he was motivated to sell the bucolic house, with the outspoken cook recently causing ire in the seaside locale, stating live on radio, "Trust me I absolutely love Cornwall, it's just the Cornish I can't stand."

Given that the TV star has famously held two pieces of white bread on either side of a person's head before calling them "an idiot sandwich", we reckon the slight against the good people of Cornwall wasn't that severe, all things considered.

Whatever the case, it's not the only time a property in Cornwall has caused Ramsay grief.

Back in 2016, the father of six was engaged in an eight-month planning battle over another property he owned in Cornwall, which he wished to bulldoze.

Said proposed bulldozing infuriated neighbours and local community members, but Ramsay eventually won the dispute, and the 1920s-built home, called Lanarth, was levelled.

In its place, Ramsay built a new mansion which he still owns to this day.

So, if the Kitchen Nightmares host ever feels like Cornish folk are tolerable again, he can still move back to the picturesque, waterside region.
