Haaland claims second successive Golden Boot

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has claimed his second successive Castrol Golden Boot award.

Despite failing to score in Man City's 3-1 win over West Ham United on the final day, Haaland ended the season with 27 Premier League goals, five clear of his nearest rival.

Haaland becomes the first player to win the award in back-to-back seasons since Mohamed Salah did so for Liverpool in 2017/18 and 2018/19.

“To win the Golden Boot again is very special for me,” Haaland told Man City's official website. “I’m so proud to make my contribution to help this incredible team and my amazing team-mates.

“I have to thank all my team-mates for helping me to this award, and the coaches and staff that work so hard. And a thank you to the fans who give me so much support, and I always enjoy celebrating goals with you!”
