Harry Kane sends 10word message amid Thomas Tuchel sack talk
Kane could go another season without winning silverware as Bayern Munich slipped eight points behind Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen

Things are not going according to plan for Harry Kane. After departing boyhood club Tottenham Hotspur in a £100million deal in the summer, Kane was widely expected to finally add silverware to his impressive goalscoring career.

Kane was Tottenham's talisman and became their all-time top goalscorer in the season before leaving north London to head for the Bundesliga giants. The stick he was always beaten with was the fact he had not guided Spurs to any trophies during his time at the club.

A Champions League final defeat, two failed Premier League title challenges and a League Cup final defeat were chief among the near-misses while in N17. At Bayern, however, he was expected to claim silverware galore.

He had the chance in his very first game - the German Super Cup final - but lost 3-0 to RB Leipzig. That should not have mattered though, given Bayern have won the Bundesliga for 10 years in a row.

Currently they are eight points adrift of Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen though having lost their fourth game of the season to Bochum on Sunday. Kane scored a late goal to make it 3-2, but missed a couple of gilt-edged chances in the match too.

Already out of the DFB Pokal and 1-0 behind in their Champions League last-16 clash with Lazio after the first leg, it could be another year without a trophy for Kane. There is still plenty of time to turn things around, however, and Kane has issued a defiant message after the defeat to Bochum on his social media.

He said: "No hiding from a tough week with performances and results not at the level we expect from ourselves. Got to pull together as a group and push forward - big run of important games coming up to turn it round."

Pulling together is the key message there, with plenty of talk around head coach Thomas Tuchel's future at the club. Reports have suggested he could be sacked, but other reports have said his job is safe for now.
