Hibs team news vs Arbroath as Shaun Maloney hands Sylvester Jasper his first start

Hibs boss Shaun Maloney has named his team to face Arbroath in the Scottish Cup.

The Easter Road gaffer is hoping to kickstart his time at the club with just one win in 2022 and that came in the last round of the Scottish Cup.

Hibs needed extra time on that occasion and will hope they can get it done in 90 minutes today but it will be a tough test against the Championship leaders.

Arbroath are flying under Dick Campbell and when you add the weather at Gayfield, then this is a potential banana skin for the club.

The midweek defeat to Rangers was a big disappointment for Maloney and he's handed Sylvester Jasper a start after he impressed at Ibrox.

He was direct with his running and he comes into the team as the only change from the 2-0 loss in midweek with the injured Paul McGinn dropping out of the squad.

It means Matt Macey continues in goal ahead of Kevin Dabrowski with a return to a back three as Lewis Stevenson joins Rocky Bushiri and Ryan Porteous.

Jasper comes into the side as one of the wingers either side of Kevin Nisbet with Demi Mitchell on the other flank.
