Holly Willoughby reveals she suffered shock at beginning of romance with husband

Holly Willoughby has opened up at the shock she suffered at the beginning of her relationship with her husband, Dan Baldwin.

Holly has been opening up about falling in love with Dan, admitting it was actually quite a confusing time for her. In fact, she didn't see their romance coming at all and suffered quite the shock when she realised what was happening. 

The popular This Morning presenter met her husband while they were both working on a Saturday morning show. The pair immediately hit it off, but more so as very close friends. 

Speaking on Loose Women, Holly revealed she was completely stunned when she realised she was developing feelings for Dan. 

She explains "We met on Saturday mornings when we were doing that and we became like really ridiculously close friends and it was like this intensity of friendship for quite a long time - say 10 to 15 weeks or something.

Holly says "I remember cheers-ing him with a glass and looking at him and I was like, oh my god I fancy him. I fancy my friend."

Looking back, Holly said "It took me so by surprise and I thought, oh gosh what's just happened?" she added, "And the relationship carried on and I think in hindsight looking back, I think I was actually falling in love with him.

She said, "I think that's what that intensity was, but I didn't necessarily recognise it."

Holly and Dan went on to get married in 2007 in St Michael’s church and went on to have a beautiful reception in the 900-year-old Amberley Castle on the South Downs in West Sussex.

The couple share three children: Harry, Belle and Chester.
