Hollyoaks' 'most disturbing scene' airs as JJ assaults Frankie in sibling sex abuse plot
Hollyoaks fans have been left speechless by the soap's "most disturbing scene ever".
In harrowing scenes, which are available to view on Channel 4 streaming and will air on E4 on Wednesday (March 13), Frankie Osbourne (Isabelle Smith) was left traumatised as twin brother JJ (Ryan Mulvey) entered her room in the middle of the night in scenes which confirmed a sibling sexual abuse story.
The teen spent the evening at Lucas Hay’s (Oscar Curtis), with Ste (Kieron Richardson) jumping to the wrong conclusion when he returned home to find Lucas shirtless, having just stepped out of the shower. With Lucas and Frankie adamant that nothing happened between them, Darren Osbourne (Ashley Taylor-Dawson) was informed of his daughter’s whereabouts and urged her to return home.

After some encouragement from Lucas, she did just that. Her brother JJ, meanwhile, returned home from his football trials to reveal that he’d been signed to the under 18s. The whole Osborne clan were delighted but Frankie, used to her brother being hailed as the golden boy, decided to take herself off to her room for an early night.

JJ waited until after everyone else was in bed to enter his sister’s bedroom, where he proceeded to berate her for being "mean" and refusing to celebrate his victory with him. Frankie was apologetic and promised she’d celebrate tomorrow over a pizza. "Let’s celebrate how we used to", replied JJ in a sinister tone as he closed the gap between he and Frankie.
"By playing school discos." In disturbing scenes, he forced Frankie’s hands onto his hips before putting his own on her waist, pulling her closer. A noise from outside resulted in JJ backing off, but he smiled as he left, telling Frankie that he’ll look forward to picking up where they left off. Frankie was horrified as she broke down in tears, as the show faded to black, with Hollyoaks’ signature opening theme absent from a hauntingly silent credits sequence.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one gobsmacked fan penned: "The ending to tonight’s streaming episodes of @hollyoaks has got to be one of the most harrowing and disturbing scenes this show has done. The way it was filmed, the performance, the lack of music. Incredible but incredibly uncomfortable to watch."
Another added: "That scene at the end might actually be the most uncomfortable thing I've ever watched." A third persons said: "I knew there was something creepy about JJ's behaviour towards his sister. Just read the show is exploring a sibling incest story with JJ and Frankie and I can't deal with that."
Frankie has been the subject of much discussion in the Osborne household after she made a false allegation of sexual abuse against granddad Jack Osbourne (Jimmy McKenna). Darren (Ashley Taylor Dawson) and Charlie Dean (Charlie Behan) were quick to defend Jack, knowing that he isn’t capable of what Frankie accused him of, but the incident did alert Darren to the fact that there was more to the situation than meets the eye, with he and the twins' mum Suzanne Ashworth (Suzanne Hall) determined to get to the bottom of it.
