Home Alone. It’s one of the most well-loved Christmas films of all time, and for many people watching it annually is a festive tradition.
But each time you rewatch Home Alone, and see Kevin McAllister pull the same tricks over and over, you probably can’t help but wonder – what are all these people up to now? If, in the real world, they weren’t frozen in the amber of a Christmas movie, what would all of these actors have gone on to do?
Or, put another way, where are the Home Alone cast now?
Macaulay Culkin played Kevin McAllister in two Home Alone movies.
He took a break from for nearly a decade from 1994-2003, but has since returned to film and television. Most recently he appeared in the tenth series of American Horror Story.
Culkin is currently in a relationship with his Changeland co-star Brenda Song, herself a former child actor as well. Their first child was born in April 2021, and named Dakota after Culkin’s deceased sister.
Joe Pesci appeared in Home Alone as Harry, one of the thieves that targets the McAllister house.
Pesci was already Oscar-nominated for his role in Raging Bull when Home Alone was released. He’s since won an Oscar for Goodfells in 1990 and been nominated again in 2019 for The Irishman.
Daniel Stern played Marv, one of the burglars who breaks into the McAllister’s home, and runs into Kevin again in New York.
He’s since appeared in television series like Manhattan, Angie Tribecca, and Shrill. Stern was asked to reprise his Home Alone role in Home Alone 4, but declined on reading the script.
John Heard played Kevin McAllister’s father in both Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. He also appeared in films such as Big (1988) and White Chicks (2004), and won an Emmy for a guest appearance in The Sopranos.
Heard passed away in 2017 after a heart attack.
Catherine O’Hara played Kevin’s mother Kate. She’s a prolific actor, well-known for roles in films such as Beetlejuice and The Nightmare Before Christmas, as well as TV series Coming Up Rosie.
Last year, social media users were shocked when they put together that Catherine O’Hara from Home Alone was the same Catherine O’Hara who starred in Schitt’s Creek as Moira Rose.
Devin Ratray played Buzz, Kevin’s mean older brother. He’s since appeared in Supernatural, The Tick, The Good Fight, and Chicago Med. Devin Ratray reprised his role as Buzz McAllister, now a police officer, in the most recent Home Alone movie, Home Sweet Home Alone.
He was arrested for an alleged domestic assault earlier this month.
Roberts Blossom played Old Man Marley in the first Home Alone movie. He was an actor and a poet, best known outside of Home Alone for his roles in Close Encounters of the Third Kind and The Last Temptation of Christ.
Blossom passed away in 2011 at the age of 87.
Donald Trump played Donald Trump in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, which he insisted on in exchange for letting the production film in his hotel.
Since appearing in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Donald Trump served as President of the United States.
Alex D. Linz appeared in Home Alone 3 (1997), playing Alex Pruitt. He has since largely retired from acting, though he did also appear in Red Dragon as the young Francis Dolarhyde.
Scarlett Johansson also appeared in Home Alone 3, as Alex’s older sister Molly. Johnasson is now most famous for her role as Black Widow in the Avengers franchise, as well as other roles in films like Marriage Story, Her, and JoJo Rabbit.
Mike Weinburg took over the role of Kevin McAllister in Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House (2002). Weinburg has since stopped acting.
Christian Martyn played Finn Baxter in Home Alone 5: The Holiday Heist. He’s since appeared in Netflix series Anne with an E.
Archie Yates was in Home Sweet Home Alone in 2021. He’s not had the time to appear in anything else since.
