Viewers are eager to know why Mark Grayson’s suit went from yellow to a blue suit with black accents in Invincible Season 3 and comics. Mark is the son of the beloved hero, Omni-Man, and is a hybrid of Viltrumite and Human. Under his father’s wing, he trains to become a superhero, wielding extraordinary powers and enhanced strength. After earning his moniker, he originally sports his yellow and blue attire. However, his suit upgrade has left many wondering about its significance in the recent installment and comics. So, here are the details.

Here’s why Mark changes to a new blue suit in Invincible Season 3 and comics

Mark Grayson’s new suit is a reflection of a shift in his storyline in Invincible Season 3, which will be majorly focusing on two dramatic events — Conquest’s arrival and the ultimate Invincible war. While the comics don’t provide any solid answer for the costume upgrade, according to creator Robert Kirkman, it represents Mark’s “darkest and most intense” era, as per his Variety interview.

“Going into the third season, it seemed like a good time to bring a new Mark to the forefront after everything he’s been through in Season 2. He’s in a different headspace and that gets reflected in his costume,” he added.

Invincible Season 3 trailer features Mark Grayson, not only just leveling up his abilities for the upcoming war, but also receiving a new suit. The final moments tease Mark’s suit change, marking a serious chapter in his heroic arc. After ditching the yellow suit, he sports a black and blue costume, making him wonder whether it looks a bit “serious,” given it drops the colorful elements of his original suit.

In the comics, after getting his powers, Mark makes Oliver meet Art in Issue #51. As Mark and Oliver argue over Oliver’s new name, Kid Omni-Man, Art calls Mark to have a look at his new suit. A confused Mark asks him why he thinks he requires a new suit when he already has his old one. To this, Art replies, “You’ve been in the old suit for a while. I got bored with it. Besides, this one will look better next to your brother. The old one would have clashed – too many colors.” (via Dexerto)

While in the comics, the reason for changing the color of Mark’s suit appears trivial, it carries more weight in the series and is more aligned with the character’s headspace in Season 3.
