James Bond POLL: Should Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson be the next 007?

The iconic role of James Bond has been played for the last 15 years by Daniel Craig, who said goodbye to the franchise with its most recent release ‘No Time to Die’. Mr Craig’s last hurrah smashed box office records, reeling in $119million in its debut weekend.

Many contenders have been lined up to be the next Mr Bond, but Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has claimed it’s his time to shine as the 007 agent.
In an interview with Esquire, former WWE star Mr Johnson confessed his grandfather was a Bond villain, acting alongside Sean Connery in the 007 film ‘You Only Live Twice’.
He said: “I would like to follow in his footsteps and be the next Bond. I don’t want to be the villain, got to be Bond.”
So far, there has never been a non-white James Bond, and many fans are calling for the new Bond to be cast with diversity in mind.
Star of Luther, Idris Elba, was a favourite in the running to be the next James Bond, but he has ruled himself out.
During the premiere for Mr Elba's new Netflix movie, The Harder They Fall, he said: "No I'm not going to be James Bond."
But when asked if he would like to take the role, he responded: "Who wouldn't?
"How amazing would it be to have a Black James Bond? It's a sign of the times when we can stop talking about black, white, and colour."

Craig was recently asked about who he would want to take over from him going forward.
