Celtic's Daizen Maeda Speaks From Japan Camp | Latest Celtic News

Celtic currently have four players in Qatar at the Asian Cup. South Korean duo Yang and Oh have made one appearance between them whilst Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda’s Japan have not done too well.
The Samurai Blue sit second in their section and level on points with their next opponents Indonesia heading into the final game of the group stages on Wednesday.

A win is a must if Japan are to progress to the next round, but that is not a guarantee. Indeed, in their previous match, they were defeated by Iraq.

Hatate did make a positive impact, setting up a late equaliser, but following it, his fellow Celt Maeda spoke out. The vivacious winger talked about his disappointment at missing a notable opportunity on matchday two, but how he wants to emulate what he does for his club to help send his nation to the last sixteen.
Maeda apologised for his missed chance against the Iraqis: “I’m sorry I couldn’t score because I was slow going for the header”, he said (Glasgow Times).
“If selected for the next game, I want to create chances for my colleagues. That’s what I try to do at Celtic. My strength is my speed. I hope I can make the most of that.
“We know we have to win the final game in the group, but I am not worried because we also lost the second game at the World Cup and still qualified.”
