Big Night of Musicals 'spoiled' as viewers distracted by 'irritating' BBC audience

Big Night of Musicals spoiled as viewers distracted by irritating BBC audience
BIG NIGHT OF MUSICALS sparked a wave of furious social media complaints as viewers were left distracted by the behaviour of the live audience, which they said "spoiled" the show.

Jason Manford hosted Saturday's Big Night of Musicals by the National Lottery, which saw some spell-binding performances from the West End brought to the screen. As viewers tuned into the BBC programme though, they were left angered by audience members recording the show on their phones, with many left "irritated".

Jason opened the show by singing a medley of classic hits from the biggest musicals, such as Razzle Dazzle and There's No Business Like Show Business.

While fans tuning in enjoyed his performance, they couldn't help noticing that several audience members had been recording it on their phones.

Many claimed this ruined the show and left them unable to enjoy it.

Twitter user Dylan Roberts fumed: "People in the audience filming it on their phones are winding me up. #BigNightOfMusicals."

Daisy Chain penned: "#BigNightOfMusicals. Was looking forward to this, but spoiled by the idiots sitting there with their phones held aloft."

Jules added: #BigNightOfMusicals is my kind of entertainment. LOVE LOVE LOVE but those people with their mobile phones in the air are so irritating!

"BigNightOfMusicals What T**** filming on their phones," Lucy commented.

Gari remarked: "Shout out to the stupid people filming in the audience on their phones... knowing it was being aired in HD on the BBC on Saturday night... #BigNightOfMusicals."

"Tonight, we celebrate all that's great about musical theatre, with some very special performances."

Performances following included a Disney medley featuring songs from Frozen, The Lion King and Beauty and The Beast.

Broadway and movie star Keala Settle also sang, and child stars from School Of Rock performed an energetic routine.

Beverley Knight and an array of other musical theatre performers also took to the stage.
