Dancing On Ice shake-up as John Barrowman dropped as ITV judge

Dancing On Ice is set to return in January 2022 however the judging panel will see a shake-up this year as John Barrowman will not be returning. He usually sits alongside skating professionals Christopher Dean, Jayne Torvill and Ashely Banjo, but next year Barrowman will have a new role.
An ITV spokesperson confirmed to Express.co.uk: "We thank John Barrowman for two brilliant years on the Dancing on Ice panel and are pleased to be working with him again as host of the forthcoming All Star Musicals specials.”
A spokesperson for Barrowman added: "John is thrilled to be returning to work for ITV as host on the new All Star Musicals.”
ITV clarified his exit from Dancing On Ice is not related to allegations he "exposed himself" on the set of Doctor Who.
In April of this year, a video from a Doctor Who convention in 2015 showed actor Noel Clarke claiming Barrowman would take “his d*** out every five minutes".

Barrowman later told the Daily Mail in July 2021 he did cause "awkwardness" on the set of Doctor Who and Torchwood.
He confirmed he was seeking therapy for the trauma of being “cancelled” and was drawing a “thick black line” under his past.
Barrowman explained: “As Captain Jack Harkness, I was the star of Torchwood, so I felt it was down to me to lead the company and keep them entertained.”
He revealed he would often make everyone on set aware days in advance he would be recording a nude scene and flashing was a way of making fun of the awkwardness.
“What I’m not a supporter of in regard to cancel culture is when the speed of allegation is much faster than the speed of investigation.”
The new series of Dancing On Ice is set to air next year, with the new celebrity line-up to be announced in the upcoming months.
It has been rumoured Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor who plays Sally Metcalfe in the ITV soap, has “already started training” for the show.
An insider told The Sun: “ITV have been keen to get Sally on the ice for a number of years, and she has tried out in the past, but they haven’t been able to make it work.
“She’s finally ready to do it now, though and is already taking it very seriously and has been hitting the ice rink most Sundays.”
A spokesperson for ITV responded to Express.co.uk regarding the reports: “We’ll be announcing our lineup in due course and no comment on speculation at this stage.”
Series 13 of the ITV show wrapped in March 2021 after experiencing a difficult run with many contestants pulling out due to contracting coronavirus and gaining injuries.
ITV producers will be pulling out all the stops to get the best celebrities for the upcoming series and put on a wonderful series.
Dancing on Ice returns next year January 2022.
