Actor and R&B singer 39, Jussie Smollett will be sentenced today after lying about being a victim of a racist and homophobic attack more than 3 years ago. The actor said he was attacked in downtown Chicago at 2:00 a.m. in the morning and the men who attacked him used racial and homophobic slurs, also wrapped a rope around his neck that he was still wearing when authorities arrived to his apartment. Police would later learned that he staged the attack because he was unhappy with his salary and wanted publicity and paid two brothers $3,500 to help him which he paid by check. Smollett faces a maximum of three years in prison or he could leave the court room on probation with community service.
