Kroos and Havertz react to Germany’s Euro exit after England loss

Kroos and Havertz react to Germanys Euro exit after England loss
Euro elimination a bitter pill to swallow for Havertz and Kroos.

Speaking to the media after Germany’s loss (as captured by Tz), Real Madrid man Toni Kroos expressed his disappointment over bowing out of Euro 2020 in the round-of-16 stage.

“We played a decent game. If you go out in the round of 16, that’s disappointing,” lamented the former Bayern Munich midfielder. “Overall, it’s just extremely bitter.”

Chelsea’s rising star Kai Havertz believed that his side showed signs of improvement after an even firsthalf, but it ultimately wasn’t enough to get past the English defense.

“In the first half it was a match at eye level,” said the 22-year-old. “We got better from halftime.”

While departing coach Joachim Löw and captain Manuel Neuer rued Germany’s missed chances, Havertz refrained from pointing fingers.

“We are all in the same boat. We are one unit,” Havertz remarked. “England are not a bad team, they are very stable. Of course it’s disappointing to be eliminated in the round of 16.”
