Kelvin Fletcher and wife Liz announce they're expecting twins

Big congratulations are in order for former Strictly Come Dancing champion Kelvin Fletcher and his wife Liz Marsland, who have revealed they are expecting twins.

The Emmerdale star announced the news on BBC Breakfast on Monday, during an appearance with Liz, who is also an actor, to promote their new BBC farming show.

The couple initially shared Liz’s pregnancy news in December but revealed they would be adding two more to their brood to presenters Sally Nugent and Dan Walker.

They are already parents to daughter Marnie, five, and two-year-old son Milo.

Cueing the parents’ happy news, Sally began: ‘You were already quite busy, weren’t you, before you took on a farm, with two young children.

‘And you have news to share with us this morning, which is…’

‘We’re having another two more children!’ Liz exclaimed.

Kelvin added: ‘We just recently found out, to add another curveball if you like.

‘We don’t really do things by halves and then we found out we’re having not just one baby, but two.’

He then described finding out they were having twins as ‘an absolute eye-opener’, as Liz admitted: ‘It was a shock!’

Putting it in context with their 120-acre farm on the edge of the Peak District National Park, which they bought during the pandemic, the Andy Sugden star mused: ‘So, come May, we’ll be delivering lambs for the first time. I’m not going to be delivering babies as such, but it is going to be a really busy time.

‘Yeah, we’ll have four children…’

Kelvin and Liz have been married since November 2015, but have been together for years.

Liz even recently treated fans to a throwback picture of the two of them in their younger days, with Kelvin showing off a rather interesting floppy hairstyle.

She joked: ‘100 years ago @kelvin_fletcher we had the same hair style!’

The couple will be in action on TV screens this January as their new BBC programme Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure starts.

Kelvin, 37, previously described the six-part series, in which he and his family get to grips with their new lives on a farm, as ‘without doubt the biggest challenge I’ve ever taken on’.

Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure starts on January 17 at 8:30pm on BBC One.
