Kell Brook saved himself £100,000 by making the Amir Khan imposed catchweight for their Saturday fight for the ages in Manchester Arena.
'Special' scaled seven ounces under the 149 pound limit above which he would have fined a hundred grand per pound. Khan meanwhile weighed in one pound four ounces the lighter at 10st 7 lbs 5 oz. Both looked in their best physical condition for years.
A crowd approaching 3,000 who had queued in the rain and wind outside was mostly and noisily in favour of Khan.

The long-term rivals were separated by security as they came face-to-face one last time
The fierce animosity between the pair dates back all the way to the amateur days, where Olympian Khan to this day insists he would 'school' his impending opponent, with the fight finally coming to fruition after years of goading and posturing.
The fierce rivals exchanged heated words during a petulant press conference on Thursday, and they were at it again as they came face-to-face on Friday afternoon.
Locking eyes for the last time before fight night, Khan and Brook both exchanged words, none of which could be distinguished, before being separated by security.
With both fighters comfortably making weight, a bout many predicted would never transpire can now take place at the Manchester Arena on Saturday night.
All eyes were on Brook - who took to the stage first on Friday afternoon, just as he will on fight night - after he stated on Thursday that he might come in above the limit.
The Sheffield fighter comfortably made weight, however, having been greeted by a chorus of boos by the Manchester crowd.
Brook teased he might come in over the weight limit on Thursday but on Friday insisted it was never in doubt
Khan, joined by his new trainer Brian McIntyre, was clearly favoured by the Manchester crowd

Brook, formerly the IBF welterweight champion, subsequently insisted the weight has never been an issue - despite previously admitting it was becoming an increasingly arduous process with every camp.
'Half-a-pound under,' he told Sky Sports. 'Like I've been telling you, I've been nice for weeks. The weight weren't an issue, because this is a fight I can get up for easily.
'I feel amazing [mentally]. I've done all the hard work now, I've done the weights. It's now about fuelling up and coming in cool, calm and collected. I've got a job to do.'
Asked who will be the fighter who stays composed on Saturday night, Brook added: 'It'll be me. I've got to go out there and be me.
'I've got to stick to the gameplan, be cool, calm and collected and just perform, do my business.
'Electric. It's gonna be exciting, plenty of drama. I'm there to thrill the fans.'
Khan refused to reveal what had been exchanged between the pair during the face-off
Meanwhile, former unified super-lightweight champion Khan who, like Brook, looked in the best shape he's been in for years, insisted he will show the world who the better fighter is on Saturday.
'I made the weight easily,' he said. 'I could have made welterweight if I had to. Now we've seen each other head-to-head, the next time we see each other will be in the ring on Saturday. Kell Brook will be shown and told who the better fighter is.'
He continued: 'I'm loving it. I just want to thank the fans for turning up today, amazing support in Manchester. They've been nothing but amazing.
'I don't want to let them down. The training I've done for this fight... I've worked so hard, sweat buckets and buckets just to get the win for these people and for myself.'
On what was said between the pair, Khan added: 'There was a lot said. Kell is confident and so am I. It's going to be a big one no matter what.'
