Leap Day 2024
On leap day 2024, Philly will make up for 1440 minutes of lost time. After four years and 2.3 billion miles over four laps around the sun, we get a lost day back.
This extra day, which occurs every four years, is known as leap day and is added to the calendar in order to synchronize it with the solar year. It is a rare occurrence that gives us the opportunity to catch up on lost time and experience a day that only comes around once every four years.
