Urgent product recall extended due to metal contamination - full list

Lidl has issued a warning that six more of its products might contain dangerous pieces of metal.

The supermarket is extending its recall of cookies because they may not be safe to eat. When there's a problem with a food product that means it shouldn't be sold, it might be 'withdrawn' (taken off the shelves) or 'recalled' (when customers are asked to bring the product back).

The Food Standards Agency lets consumers and local authorities know about any problems with food through Product Withdrawal Information Notices and Product Recall Information Notices. Sometimes, a 'Food Alert for Action' is sent out. This gives local authorities information about specific actions they need to take to protect consumers.

Last week, Lidl recalled three types of cookies. Now, this recall has been extended to include more products:

• Tower Gate Half Coated Chocolate Chunk Cookies
• Tower Gate Half Coated Fruit and Nut Cookies
• McEnnedy American Way Nougatelli
• Tower Gate Soft Baked Cookies Triple Chocolate
• Tower Gate Soft Baked Cookies Lemon
• Tower Gate Chocolate Chip Cookies

Notices will be put up in all stores selling these products. These notices will explain why the products are being recalled and what customers should do if they've bought them.

If you have purchased any of the mentioned products, do not consume them. Instead, return them to the shop where you bought them for a complete refund.
