Celebrity Gogglebox couple confirm split after nine years of marriage in message to fans
A Celebrity Gogglebox couple have split.
Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont are divorcing after nine years of marriage, they have announced in a joint statement. A statement to the PA news agency said: "After 9 years of marriage, we would like to announce that we have separated. We have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways.
"As our only priority is managing this difficult transition for our daughter, we would ask that our privacy is respected at this sensitive time to protect her well-being. We will be making no further comment." The couple have starred in Meet The Richardsons in which they play 'exaggerated versions of themselves'.

The 'at home mockumentary', which airs on UKTV's Dave with the fifth series starting this month, saw Lucy nominated for a Bafta TV award in the female performance in a comedy programme category in 2023. Jon and Lucy tied the knot in April 2015 and being introduced by mutual friend and comedian Roisin Conaty and dated for around two years prior to marriage. They have a daughter, who was born in September 2016.

They first appeared on the celebrity version of Gogglebox back in 2022. Fans of the Channel 4 show quickly dubbed them the new Giles Wood and Mary Killen after an hilarious conversations over Weetabix, Titanic and crumbs in bed. The couple, both comedians, went down a storm with their disagreements on a wide variety of funny topics at the time.
On the show, Jon asked Lucy: "Why do you think it is acceptable to eat Weetabix upstairs and not only not bring the bowl down and put it in to soak, but to leave it in the bed?" Lucy replied: "I don't leave it in the bed though, do I? I leave it on the side."
Jon replied: "Sometimes there's so many crumbs, I wake up and it's like I have been breadcrumbed and deep fried." Lucy responds: "You sweat a lot." Jon said: "It's because I am a hot man." Meanwhile, Jon also dropped the bombshell to his wife that he went to watch Titanic six times at the cinema. Lucy was less than impressed and said: "I really struggle with that."
Fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, after watching the episode to share their appreciation for the comedy duo. Ann Gamble said: "John Richardson and Lucy Beaumont the" new Giles and Mary of Googlebox." Another viewer said: "Jon Richardson & his wife are brilliant. Totally normal conversations not trying hard whatsoever." One said: "I'm sort of neutral on Jon Richardson but I love his wife so much."
