M25 fire: Mondeo 'hits central reservation' before catching light but driver escapes - recap
A vehicle fire caused significant delays on the M25 on Thursday morning (September 16).
Three lanes were closed on the clockwise carriageway to allow emergency services to deal with the blaze, which happened near Junction 10 for the A3 and Wisley.
A smoke plume above the M25 was seen from Byfleet Recreation Ground at 6.45am Firefighters have since put out the blaze.
The driver escaped with the help of a passer-by before the Mondeo caught fire. The blaze started after the car crashed into the central reservation, police said.
